how do i share my iPhoto library with my apple tv

In the past I could share my iPhoto library with my Apple TVs in my other rooms.

I recently noticed I can not easily do this anymore without purchasing iCloud service - uploading to the iCloud to then download to my Apple TV. Is there an easier way to do this again? I really enjoyed setting up slideshows and shuffling through photos when I had company.
